In addition to creating and maintaining this portfolio website (proudly made with WordPress), I have dedicated my time and skills to working on various other personal design projects. These projects have not only provided me with a chance to unleash my creativity but have also enabled me to hone my abilities across a wide range of areas within the fields of branding and design.
Each of these personal design projects holds a special place in my heart, as they have collectively contributed to my growth as a designer. From designing logos for local businesses to crafting visually appealing social media graphics, each project allowed me to explore different aspects of design and push the boundaries of my skillset.
Through these endeavors, I have developed a keen eye for detail and an ability to incorporate unique and innovative elements into my designs. I firmly believe that the quality of my work on these projects is a testament to my ability to produce high-caliber designs that are both visually striking and functionally effective.
Channel 37
Channel 37 is my YouTube channel featuring local TV nostalgia from the 70s through the 90s. This passion project has been carefully curated and crafted, representing a labor of love dedicated to preserving and reliving the magic of a bygone era. Channel 37 is meticulously designed to transport you to a time filled with nostalgia.
For Channel 37, I designed the logo, website, Twitch streaming assets for media capture livestreams, and merchandise based on technical difficulty slides from the era. My meticulous design work contributes to Channel 37 becoming more than just a YouTube channel, but a captivating window into a beloved era of local television.
Heliogoodbye
Heliogoodbye is my Twitch streaming persona, an adventurer elf for hire. While I commissioned a specialist illustrator to design the character, I took it upon myself to create a complete branding experience for Heliogoodbye. This included designing eye-catching stickers, professionally crafted handout cards, and even a dedicated website. Together, these elements work harmoniously to establish Heliogoodbye as a brand that stands out in a sea of Vtubers. With a captivating visual design and a comprehensive branding approach, Heliogoodbye is ready to take on the world of Twitch streaming and beyond.
Engaging in regular streaming has afforded me the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). As I navigated the intricacies of OBS, I honed my skills in configuring various settings, optimizing audio and video quality, and mastering the art of scene transitions. The hands-on experience gained through my streaming endeavors has not only deepened my technical proficiency with OBS but has also provided insights into troubleshooting common issues that may arise during live broadcasts. Combined with my experience in television control rooms and live trucks, this robust knowledge of OBS has empowered me to create captivating and professional-looking streams, ensuring a seamless and immersive viewing experience for my audience.
Thin Mint
In the world of roller derby, I’m known as Thin Mint. A former skater, I continue to be a part of the community as a volunteer, in addition to announcing matches in cooperation with the WFTDA Remote Studio program. What began as a simple custom helmet logo evolved into a comprehensive branding endeavor encompassing a dynamic character, visually appealing printed materials, merchandise, and a website. Through these efforts, I have managed to celebrate roller derby’s dynamic spirit, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and contribute to the ongoing growth and excitement of this incredible sport.
As Thin Mint, my commitment to the roller derby community remains unwavering, and I take pride in the lasting impact I can make both on and off the track.
